LEFT: The "Cold Tail" joint is showing at the top of the picture. From this point, you can follow the "path" the installer has used to ensure that the two "Cold Tails" arrive back at the same point. RIGHT Shows the "hidden" section to the right of the Cold Tail position.

Kitchen with Cold Tail view 01Kitchen showing Cold Tail Supply from behind a Fridge
These two pictures show the "Cold Tail" arrangement used for this particular installation. The Power Supply was located behind the Refrigerator space, so a longer "Chase"than normal was required to be cut into the floor. The dark tube also running along this chase is a piece of 10mm Flexible Conduit down which the Floor Temperature Sensor will be pushed to enable the Thermostat to monitor and hence control the floor operating temperature. The Flexi Conduit is run up through the wall to the Flush Box, along with the Cold Tails themselves. Note the position of the end of the Flexi Conduit in the floor. It is sealed (with electrical tape) and positioned to be midway between two elements as spaced on the mat.
To change direction & heat around shapes, the mat backing can be cut (but NOT the Element) and/or element can be removed from the backing mat and glued or taped to the floor as required.
