In Slab Heating

In-slab, heating is a heating cable fixed to the top layer of the slab reinforcement before slab pour. Cables are installed with the top mesh in approximately 30-40mm of concrete. The system runs during off-peak hours to cut energy costs and maximise system efficiency. Our heating cables heat the slab, in turn warming the floor covering above.

During peak hours, the system runs on the stored energy accumulated during off-peak hours. The thermal mass the slab provides retains heat for long periods of time, insulating the slab from the outside elements minimises heat loss. This system is usually used in new construction before the slab is poured.

Benefits of Electric in-slab floor heating.

• A correctly designed floor heating system ensures heating performance in all weather conditions.

• With a design life of 50 years maintenance free, there are no ongoing costs to service the DEVI manufacturers 20 year ‘restoration’ warranty.

• In coastal environments, none of the heating system is located outdoors where products are exposed to salt laden air.

• When used in conjunction with low tariff/night rate power, electrical in-slab heating is efficient and spreads the peak energy demand.

• Kills mites and bacteria in floor coverings which make for a healthier ‘breathe easy’ home and a less allergenic environment.

• Prevents unhealthy mold forming beneath floor coverings.

• Electric in-slab heating can easily be integrated with solar systems to heat your home with free power.
